Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in HLA-DP (rs9277535 and rs3077) and HLA-DQ (rs2856718 and rs7453920) have been repeatedly associated with chronic hepatitis B and spontaneous HBV clearance.
This study aimed to investigate the association of two single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs), one in the HLA-DPB1 (rs9277535) and one in the HLA-DQB2 (rs7453920), with chronic hepatitis B infection in a southern Brazilian sample.
We also found that the HLA-DPA1 and HLA-DPB1 genes were significantly associated with protective effects against chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in Japanese, Korean and other Asian populations, including Chinese and Thai individuals (P(meta) = 4.40×10⁻¹⁹ for rs3077 and P(meta) = 1.28×10⁻¹⁵ for rs9277542).
To identify host genetic factors that are associated with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) susceptibility, we previously conducted a two-stage genome-wide association study (GWAS) and identified the association of HLA-DP variants with CHB in Asians; however, only 179 cases and 934 controls were genotyped using genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) arrays.
Through a two-stage genome-wide association study using 786 Japanese chronic hepatitis B cases and 2,201 controls, we identified a significant association of chronic hepatitis B with 11 SNPs in a region including HLA-DPA1 and HLA-DPB1.

Efficacy and safety of interferon alpha-2b versus pegylated interferon alpha-2a monotherapy in children with chronic hepatitis B: a real-life cohort study from Shanghai, China.
This study aims to investigate the antiviral effect of polyethylene glycol (PEG)-interferon α-2a and PEG-interferon α-2b treatment on hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-positive chronic hepatitis B (CHB) at the 48th week of treatment and the 24th and 48th week after withdrawal, in order to provide guidance on the antiviral treatment of HBeAg-positive CHB patients.
The Predictive Value of Baseline HBsAg Level and Early Response for HBsAg Loss in Patients with HBeAg-positive Chronic Hepatitis B during Pegylated Interferon Alpha-2a Treatment.
The effect of peginterferon alpha-2a vs. interferon alpha-2a on intrahepatic covalently closed circular DNA in HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients.
The aim of this study was to investigate possible involvement of estrogen receptor α (ESR1) in responding to pegylated interferon alpha-2a (PEG IFNα-2a) therapy in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients.
