The aim of this study was to examine the expression of HDAC6 and AR, determine the correlation between HDAC6 and AR, and assess the prognostic value of HDAC6 and AR in breast cancer.
Among them, compound 7j showed the most potent inhibitory activity against HDAC6 with IC<sub>50</sub> of 34 nM and exhibited the great inhibitory activities against a human breast cancer cell line MCF-7 with IC<sub>50</sub> of 9 μM in vitro.
In conclusion, the co-treatment with PI3K/mTOR inhibitor BEZ235 and HDAC6 inhibitor TST displayed additive antiproliferative effects on breast cancer cells through inactivating RTKs and established a rationable combination therapy to treat breast cancer.
