Correlation analysis between expression of these 17 miRNAs and patients' clinicopathological characteristics showed that miR-203 was down-regulated in esophageal carcinoma (EC) tissues and was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis and poor overall survival.
PTC tissues had decreased miR-130a and miR-203 relative to adjacent normal tissues and normal thyroid tissue (both P < .05). miR-130a was in positive correlation with miR-203 (r = 0.754, P < .01). miR-130a was related with tumor infiltration and tumor stage while miR-203 was implicated in tumor stage and lymph-node metastasis.
MicroRNA-203 is highly expressed in NSCLC, and is closely related to tumor stage, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and poor prognosis of NSCLC patients.
Our aim was to study the expression of miR-26, miR-107, miR-125b, and miR-203 in primary HNSCC with and without lymph node metastasis and their clinicopathological significance.
Furthermore, miR-203 expression showed a nearly 4.5-fold decrease in ESCC than NETs (0.206 ± 0.336 vs. 0.908 ± 1.424, P < 0.001) and was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis (P = 0.012).
Aberrant expression of miR-20a was correlated with lymph node metastasis (LNM), histological grade and tumor diameter, but down-regulated miR-203 was correlated with LNM only.
