The aim of this study was to investigate the regulation mechanism of aquaporin 9 (AQP9) gene on inflammatory response and cardiac function in rats with myocardial infarction (MI) through extracellular signal-regulated kinase1/2 (ERK1/2) pathway.
The administration of P2X<sub>7</sub> R RNAi during the acute inflammatory response phase prevented the process of sympathetic hyperinnervation after MI, which was associated in part with inhibiting the Akt and ERK1/2 pathways and NF-κB activation.
SFE limits myocardial infarction in Wild-Type and ApoE<sup>(-/-)</sup> mice in a multifaceted manner including activation of Akt/eNOS/ERK1/2/GSK3-β and through Nrf2 pathway, bestowing antioxidant protection against I/R.
These results suggest that interaction of RAGE and its ligand S100B after myocardial infarction may play a role in myocyte apoptosis by activating ERK1/2 and p53 signaling.
