High expression of S-phase kinase associated protein 2 (Skp2) is associated with numerous clinicopathological parameters, including histology, lymph node metastasis, smoking status, differentiation and Tumor-Node-Metastasis stage in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The incidence of high-level Skp2 was correlated with higher histological grade (P = 0.0056), the extent of lymph node metastasis (P = 0.0086), the level of lymphatic permeation (P = 0.0024), and poorer patient outcome (P = 0.0189).
Skp2 labeling frequency was positively associated with differentiation degree (rho = 0.315, P = 0.000), vessel invasion (rho = 0.303, P = 0.000) and lymph node metastasis (rho = 0.254, P = 0.000) of gastric cancer.
Elevated expression of SKP2 correlated significantly with positive lymph node metastasis (P = 0.007), with stage II or higher of the international TNM classification (P = 0.014), with poor or moderate differentiation (P < 0.001), and with the presence of squamous cell carcinoma (P = 0.037).
